System Administrator

Plexus Corporation, Neenah, WI                                      6/1998 – 1/2002

  • System Administrator in a large network environment of approximately 3,000+ personal computer workstations, and 80+ servers, including the following server types: Client Servers, Net Appliance, File Servers SQL Database Servers, Citrix/MetaFrame Terminal Servers, Unix and Application Servers
  • Created Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 95 operating system templates/images to standardize our client operating systems for deployment to our end users for both laptop and desktop PCs
  • Responsible for user account creation and group permissions for all Plexus facilities in Neenah, Appleton, Minnesota, and Illinois. Also helped standardize naming and group conventions
  • Created instructions for performing standard software, template/image, and Ghost Console installations
  • Successfully installed a Ghost Console in the Education Department that allows pre-configured images to be deployed to classroom PCs, ensuring each PC has a standardized configuration
  • Responsible for standardizing and testing new PCs for end users. Tested demonstration model PCs from several manufacturers, including: Hewlett Packard, IBM, Compaq, and Gateway
  • Supported many different software configurations for manufacturing and engineering environments as a PC Support Specialist
  • Worked with the following software programs: Microsoft Windows 2000, NT, 95, OS/2, Microsoft office Suite, Cisco VPN Client, Pro/E 2000i, AutoCAD, Innoculan Virus, McAfee Antivirus and EPO Agent, Citrix Terminal Session, as well as others
  • As an Intern, performed installation of Cisco Catalyst 1900, and 2900 series switches, and 3Com PSII 24-Port Hubs. Also installed approximately 100,000+ feet of Category 5 Data cable; polished and terminated fiber optic cable ends and installed them
